Bhutan: Fish import from India to be allowed with health certificate from EIC

Bhutan Agriculture and Food Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) has notified that starting August 1 imports of chilled fish and crustacean from India would be allowed only with a health certificate issued by the Export Inspection Council (EIC) of India.

Formalin-fish ban: Exports from Andhra Pradesh to Assam normalise

Trade relations are on the verge of becoming normal with Assam with 260 consignments of fish being sent to the State, after the formalin-fish ban controversy, since July 7. As TNIE reported, from 92 consignments sent till August 10, the number has increased to 260 till date, auguring well for Andhra Pradesh’s fish trade with Assam.

The ornamental and exotic fish industry may soon get a shot in the arm with the state government planning an 'ornamental fish park' in the Konkan. Likely to come up in Sindhudurg, this park will be modelled on the lines of industrial areas and will boost domestic demand and increase the country's share in the export of these fish by nurturing a larger eco-system.
