A delegation led by Pham Vu Hong chairman of peoples committee of Kien Giang province, Vietnam, met Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here on Wednesday and expressed willingness to share its expertise in marine production. The delegation explained its expertise in aqua food processing to provide value addition and offered to share the knowledge with Andhra Pradesh. A major part of aqua production from India has been going to Vietnam for processing and value addition as Vietnamese are experts in the processing of fish, prawns and other marine products in addition to rice.
Peoples committee chairman Pham Vu Hong said that they were ready to extend cooperation in the processing of fish and rice. The Chief Minister agreed to extend cooperation in sharing knowledge in information technology and aqua food processing. AP Fisheries commissioner Ramsankar Naik said Vietnam would extend cooperation to provide 40 per cent value addition to marine products. Marine products exports development authority (MPEDA) joint director Anil Kumar, CM’s secretary A Rajamouli and others were present.
