Japan Replaces US to Become Biggest Importer of Vietnamese Seafood in Q1

27 Apr 2017

Japan surpassed the U.S. to become the biggest buyer of Vietnamese seafood in the first quarter of this year, according to the monthly report of Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The U.S., the biggest importer of seafood from Vietnam for many years, remained the second position while China and South Korea took the third and the fourth place, the ministry said.
The Vietnamese seafood export to the U.S. is falling due to anti-dumping duties applied for shrimp and pangasius, and enhanced inspection program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture
