Shrimp exports up 21 pc to $3.94 bn during Apr-Jan 23 Jan 2019
 
The country's shrimp export grew 20.63 per cent during April-January of the current fiscal to USD 3.94 billion, on account of healthy demand in the US, Japan, South East Asia and the EU, as per data from the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA).

Natural hatcheries to boost inland fisheries 22 Jan 2019
 
To address the lack of hatcheries for spawning of fingerlings (2-8 cm in length), the fisheries department has decided to give fingerlings directly to fish farmers in the district. The farmers can cultivate the fingerlings in small ponds till they reach an average size to put in large waterbodies.

Blockchain tech to boost shrimp exports from Andhra Pradesh 18 Jan 2019
 
After adopting Blockchain technology in various aspects of administration, the State government is now planning to implement it for tackling the excessive use of antibiotics and other illegal issues in aquaculture. The Fisheries Department and the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) are working towards launching a pilot project, which helps monitor the entire supply chain of shrimp cultivation.
